PADI - Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Program

Padi is the only accreditation that carries out the technical assessment of exam quality.

Launched in 2014, the development of Padi involved the participation of more than a hundred radiologists from all over Brazil and also involved research into the successful experiences of other accreditation programs in Brazil and around the world.

We want to nationally qualify the services, public or private, that voluntarily join the program, through careful and impartial evaluations of compliance with minimum quality, safety and sustainability requirements.

Mission

Encouraging and recognizing compliance with safety, quality and sustainability requirements by Diagnostic Imaging services.

Vision

To be the national reference program in accreditation, recognized as a differential by Diagnostic Imaging services, the scientific community, health system regulators, health operators and the population.

Values

Ethics; Confidentiality; Quality; Patient safety; Continuing education; Respect for regional diversities and cultures; and Sustainability

Methodology

The standard is made up of principles and criteria, with each principle describing its purpose, as well as criteria and guidance items, where applicable. It is structured based on the patient's journey from scheduling exams to their final delivery, considering the safety and quality of the processes, and respecting the needs and choices of each patient. Made up of five principles, which cover not only processes aimed at the patient triad, but also processes aimed at excellence in management and criteria related to infrastructure.

Process
Educational

In its audits, Padi offers the Observed Audit process. This takes place in the second year of accreditation, during the maintenance audit, and aims to guide the accredited service in carrying out an internal audit.

As an educational process, the Padi auditor will observe an internal audit carried out by the accredited service's professionals, pointing out improvements and providing guidance on how to carry out an effective internal audit.

Recognition
International

Since 2017, the Padi Standard has been recognized by ISQua (International Society for Quality in Health Care), a partner association of the WHO (World Health Organization) and which includes representatives from academic institutions and health organizations from more than 100 countries.

ISQua is the only international society for quality in healthcare that certifies accrediting organizations worldwide and notes that Padi's standards are among the best in the world

Partnership
ANS

In 2016, the CBR was recognized by the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) as an accrediting body through the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Program (Padi).

Padi's recognition by the ANS guarantees that clinics accredited by the program are entitled to the best index in the application of the Quality Factor stipulated by Law No. 13.003/14 and regulated by Normative Resolution No. 405 of May 2016.

The aim is for patients to be able to make better choices based on quality, for operators to invest in more effective care networks and for service providers to improve their processes and performance.
